U lympho ngoại hạch vùng rìa của mô bạch huyết liên quan đến niêm mạc (EMZL-MALT) có liên quan đến kích thích miễn dịch mãn tính do nhiễm trùng hoặc kích thích tự miễn dịch. Mối liên hệ giữa nhiễm khuẩn Helicobacter pylori(HP) và MALT lymphoma dạ dày đã được chứng minh. Việc loại trừ vi khuẩn HP bằng kháng sinh được nổi bật lên là một liệu pháp tiêu chuẩn trong điều trị MALT lymphoma dạ dày giai đoạn sớm HP dương tính. Tỷ lệ đáp ứng cao và tỷ lệ sống lâu dài đã được báo cáo trong các trường hợp bệnh nhân MALT lymphoma dạ dày tại chỗ điều trị với xạ trị liều thấp. Liệu pháp kháng thể đơn dòng và hóa trị được dành riêng cho bệnh nhân thất bại hoặc tái phát sau xạ trị và những người mắc bệnh giai đoạn tiến triển.
