Abstract

Brain tumors are the most common solid tumors in children. The disease can occur in all ages of children. They are common in young men than in women. Currently, the treatment is also difficult. Objective: study some clinical characteristics of patients with brain tumors and brain tumors classified according to anatomic location in Pediatrics of Dak Lak General Hospital (2010-2015). Material and methods: Retrospective 26 medical records of patients with brain tumors hospitalized in the period from 2010-2015, the patient was diagnosed with brain tumors, according to the clinical symptoms and results of a CT scan or cranial MRI.

Result: The boys with brain tumors are higher than girls at the rate of 1.16:1; age group from 0-5 years old accounted for the highest incidence; the lowest age 3 months and maximum of 13 years. The reason most patients in hospital treatment were headache (42.4%). The clinical signs such as headaches, drowsiness and meningitis syndrome is seen most frequently >40%. Classify tumors according to anatomic location intraventricular tumors (19.2%) high percentage is ventricular meningioma (15.3%), while cerebellar, frontal tumors, brain tumors hemisphere rate were similar (11.6%). And the treatment in children with brain tumors are eligible for referral on.
