Abstract
Objective: To survey the prevalence of hepatitis B virus, hepatitis C virus in chronic renal failure patients on dialysis cycle at Hemodialysis Department of Hue Central Hospital. To find out the relation between hepatitis B virus, hepatitis C virus with some relative factors.
Subjects and methods: A descriptive, cross-sectional study on 138 chronic renal failure patients on dialysis cycle at Hemodialysis Department of Hue Central Hospital from January 2015 to May 2015. Data was analysed by SPSS 20.0 sofware.
Results: Prevalence of hepatitis in chronic renal failure patients on dialysis cycle at hemodialysis department of Hue Central Hospital is 19.6%, in which: 15.2% for HBV and 5.8% for HCV and 1.4% for co- infection. The longer dialysis time, the higher risk of hepatitis C virus infection.
Conclusion: The prevalence of hepatitis B, C at Hemodialysis Department of Hue Central Hospital is low. Cross contamination prevention is very good.
