Abstract
Objective: To describe clinical and subclinical characteristics of patient with varicose veins and to evaluate the result of treatment of varicose veins by endovenous radiofrequency ablation.
Methods: A cross-sectional study on 59 patients with varicose veins that were diagnosed by Doppler ultrasound from 10/2018 to 9/2019.
Results: Mean age was 57,3±11,10, female and male ratio was 1,95/1. There were 10 limbs treated with endovenous radiofrequency ablation unique, 15 limbs associated with sclerotherapy, 57 limbs associated with phlebectomy Muller and 8 limbs associated 3 methods. After treatment, 100% of cases presented sclerosis veins and no intravenous flow. The initial result were quite good, clinical symptoms improve, and there were no serious complications related to the procedure.
Conclusion: RFA procedure is effective in treating varicose veins of the lower limbs with the following advantages: Low complication rate, less pain, aesthetics and clinical symptom improvement. The combination of supportive methods such as foam sclerotherapy and phlebectomy Muller is always in place to bring good results to patients.
