Abstract
The complex maxillofacial trauma is a kind of injury affecting organs on the face including not only soft tissue such as skin, fascia, muscle, veins, nerves, salivary glands, etc... but also maxillofacial bones. In the whole human boby, the facila area has many sensitive organs and well-designed facial features, which is highly expect to aesthetic. The complex maxillofacial trauma with wide-spread soft-tissue defects results in facial deformations, scars that lieves significant impacts on its function and aesthetic. This gives patients a complex, making them feel insecure in social communication activities as well as in their professional commitments. Furthermore, the complex maxillofacial trauma usually connect closely to traumatic brain injury, thoracic trauma and nearby organs injury... Therefore, the management always meets with serious difficulties associating to several clinical cases and requires to cooperate with many departments such as emergency, neurology, gastroenterology, thoracic surgery, anaesthesiology, orthopedic, ophthalmology, otolaryngology (E.N.T.), haematology, etc.. For this reason, fixation and facial reconstruction surgery with wide-spread soft-tissue defects oftentimes a huge challenge for oral and maxillofacial surgeons. We have the honour of introducing a number of clinical case involving complex maxillofacial trauma and wide-spread soft-tissue defect in Odonto-stomatology center - Hue central hospital.
