1. Objective

The Journal of Clinical Medicine – Hue Central Hospital is committed to upholding academic integrity and transparency. All submitted manuscripts are screened for textual similarity and evaluated for potential AI-generated content.

2. Tools Used

The following detection tools are employed:

  • Turnitin: For plagiarism detection and similarity analysis.

  • iThenticate: For screening scientific and scholarly articles.

  • Copyleaks AI Content Detector, GPTZero: To identify content likely generated by AI (e.g., ChatGPT).

3. Policy and Procedure

3.1. Acceptable Similarity Threshold

  • The total similarity index must not exceed 20%, excluding references, institution names, and headings.

  • Direct copying from other sources without citation is considered plagiarism.

3.2. AI Content Detection

  • If content is suspected to be AI-generated (via software reports or editorial review), authors will be requested to:

    • Provide an explanation or clarification;

    • Rewrite affected sections using human-authored language.

  • If AI tools were used to generate core scientific content (e.g., results, discussion, conclusions) without disclosure, the manuscript may:

    • Be rejected outright;

    • Be retracted post-publication if already accepted;

    • Lead to temporary or permanent submission bans for the author(s).

4. Recommendations

Authors are encouraged to run a plagiarism check before submission and be fully transparent about any AI assistance used during manuscript preparation.
