Abstract

Nowadays, the problem of traffic accidents is becoming more complicated. Although there have been many efforts of the whole society and all levels of sectors but it is still a national problem. Using the method of cross-sectional descriptive research on 2807 patients with traffic accidents in the emergency department of Hue Central Hospital from June 2018 to December 2018 shows that: The rate of alcohol use is 31.3%. About 25.5% of patients do not wear helmets when participating in traffic by motorbike or motorbike. The time when traffic accidents occure during the day concentrates from 5 to 11 pm, accounted for 61.6%, peaking from 7 to 9 p.m accounted for 21.9%. All patients entering the emergency department were given first aid quickly. The spirit of the staff’s service attitude was quite assessed well and in time by patients and family members. However, the explanation of the patient’s condition is sometimes incomplete, especially for patients with mild illness. Therefore, Emergency Department should have good response. At the same time, It is necessary to have the clearer and more frequent explanation of the patient’s condition, especially for mild patients.
