Abstract
Objective: Evaluated the efficacy and complication of rotating gamma knife inpatients with AVM and present in 115 People Hospital.
Methods: Case series study from october 2011 to December 2018, 352 patients AVM were evaluated by clinical examinations, imaging studies angiography CT, and DSA; at Oncology department in 115 People Hospital.
Results: The mean age of the patients was 28.4 (12-72), mean volume was 7.8cm3, peripheral mean dose was 16.2 Gy, median follow-up was 48 months. The angiographic obliteration rate was 239 cases (68%) overall, and a part of cases was 113 (32%). These complications included 8(2.2) cases of hemorrhage, 10 (2.8) cases of cysts.
Conclusions: GKRS is a safe and effective therapy in selected patients with AVM. However longer follow-up is needed for more complete evaluation of toxicity.
Key words:Arteriovenous malformations (AVM), angiography CT, and DSA.
