Abstract
Objective: To assess the results of treatment of three - dimensional laparoscopic nephrectomy for complicated non functioning kidney at Hue Central Hospital.
Methods: We presented 26 cases of three - dimensional laparoscopic nephrectomy for complicated non functioning kidney at Department of urology and General Surgical Derpatment of Hue Central Hospital from 2020 to May 2022.
Results: Mean age: 58.38 ± 11.49 years old (36 - 85). Therewere 8 (30.8%) male and 18 (69.2%) female patients. Low back pain was the main reason for hospitalization: 18 case (69.2%), common cause of non functioning kidney was urologic calculus (61.5%). 15 patients (57.7%) underwent left nephrectomy, 11 patients (42.3%) underwent right nephrectomy. Average operating time: 153.2 ± 26.09 minutes (80 - 190 minutes). Mean blood loss during surgery: 80.4 ± 45.41 ml (20 - 200ml). One case was converted to open surgery due to multiple adhesion of the kidney. One patient had complicated during surgery, 2 patients had complicated after surgery. Average length of postoperative hospital stay was 7.2 ± 3.38 days.
Conclusions: The three - dimensional laparoscopic nephrectomy is a safe effective method, helping patient to restore soon in post operative time
