Abstract
Purpose: Assessment of results of laser ureterosopic lithotripsy in treatment of impacted ureteral stones at Hue Central Hospital and at Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital.
Methods: study has been realized on 33 patients with impacted ureteral stone treated by laser ureterosopic lithotripsy at Hue central hospital and at Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital from 2/2021 to 2/2022.
Results: mean age: 50,6 ± 12,9 years old. Male accounted for 36.4%, female accounted for 63.6%. Position of stones: 48,5% of stones are on the left ureter, 51,5% on the right, 48,5% on the lower third of ureter. There are 45.5% patients with grade 1 of hydronephrosis. The average ureteral wall thickness is 2.8 ± 0.7 mm, of which the ureteral wall thickness ranges from 2mm to 3 mm accounting for 57.6%. The free stone rate after 1 month of surgery was 93.9%.
Conclusions: laser ureterosopic lithotripsy for treatingimpacted ureteral stones can completely break up stones and give good results. The thickness of the ureteral wall at the stone site on CT scan and the degree of hydronephrosis is related to the impaction of the stones.
