Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the results of unilateral complete cleft lip surgery using Modified Millard’s technique.
Methods: A descriptive, prospective, clinical intervention study on 35 patients with congenital malformations of unilateral complete cleft lip Odonto - Stomatology Center, Hue Central Hospital from March 2022 to May 2023.
Results: After discharge from the hospital, the incision healed well, which accounted for 97.1%, only 2.9% suture breakage; skin flaps are well nourished, which accounted for 97.1%, necrosis with 2.9%; evaluation of lip scars: good 68.6%, average 28.5% and poor 2.9%. The results after 3 months of surgery were divided into 3 categories: good 74.2%, average 22.8% and poor 2.9%. Results after 6 months of surgery showed: good 68.6%, average 28.5%% and poor 2.9%.
Conclusion: Unilateral complete cleft lip surgery using Modified Millard’s Technique is feasible and more advantageous than the traditional Millard’s Technique
