Abstract
Introduction: Immunohistochemistry is a method of identifying specific antigens in tissues or cells. In Lymphoma, through known antibodies to observe the existence of cancer antigens in patient samples and thereby help pathologists determine the origin of tumor cells and classify lymphoma types. This helps target treatment and evaluate clinical prognosis more accurately and effectively.
Methods: The study was conducted on 39 patients diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma or atypical hyperplastic lymph nodes suspected of lymphoma who came for examination and treatment at Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital.
Results: With routine histopathology, the diagnosis of Lymphoma accounts for 59%. The lymph nodes were diagnosed as atypical hyperplastic lymph nodes, accounting for 41%. After immunohistochemistry: in non-Hodgkin lymphomas, B-cell lineage was the majority, B-cell lineage (21/24) accounted, T-cell lineage (3/24) accounts. Immunohistochemistry helped differentiate 13 benign cases. In cases that were diagnosed as non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, there were 2 cases were confirmed as necrotizing lymphadenitis with reactive hyperplasia.
Conclusion: Immunohistochemistry supports routine histopathological testing to identify benign or malignant lesions, specifically diagnose the disease and immunophenotype, and support clinicians in choosing treatment. suitable treatment.
