Abstract

Background: Survey of tumor budding characteristics and some tumor microenvironment components in colorectal carcinoma for treatment and prognosis.

Methods: Retrospective, descriptive cross-sectional study of colorectal cancer cases operated on at Can Tho City Oncology Hospital from June 2022 to June 2023.

Results: In 95 cases, a statistically significant association  was  found  between high-grade tumor budding and lymph node metastasis; high-grade tumor stroma percentage, low-grade tumor-infiltrating lymphocyes and lymphovascular invasion and perineural invasion.

Conclusions: Tumor budding, tumor stroma percentage and tumor-infiltrating lymphocyes are features that has prognostic value in lymphovascular invasion and perineural invasion  in  colorectal cancer.
