Abstract

Introduction: Anterolateral thigh perforator flap based on the perforators of lateral circumflex femoral artery is the Workhorse material to recover the defect. We had applied flexibly the types of ALT flap to resurface complex defects on the body.

Methods: using new types of ALT flap in clinical reconstruction: expanded ALT flap (supercharged with local pedicle): 05 cases; Thumb Reconstruction with free ALT flap (03 cases); free two ALT flap (03 cases); “super-large” ALT-DIEP flap (02 cases); through-flow ALT flap (08 cases).

Results: After operation, all flaps were nourished fully and survived completely and got good outcomes in both function and aesthetics.

Conclusion: The new advances of ALT flap make the suitable option in reconstruction of defects on the body.
