Abstract
Purpose: To describe the clinical characteristics and evaluate the outcome of retinoblasma treatment at Ophthalmology Department in HCH from 2009 to 2015. Methods: A retrospective study in 19 eyes of 16 children with retinoblastoma were treated at the Ophthalmology Department in HCH from 2009 to 2015 Results: A mean age was 39.69 months. The primary reason was "white pupillary reflex" (81.25%). Tumor's representation in one eye was 81.25%, and two eyes was 18.75%. 17/19 eyes were removed the eyeball, 2/19 eyes were had preservatived treatment. The pathological results of 100% enucleated eyes were retinoblastoma. 94.12% cases had not signs of optic nerve invasion. 5 patients (31.25%) were treated by chemotherapy combination. One death. Conclusions: Retinoblastoma was detected late. Tumor's representation in one eye was 81.25%, and two eyes was 18.75%. The incidence in male more than female (7/1). The ratio of the eyeball removing was high (89.48%). The mortality rate was 6.25%.
