Abstract

Object: evaluation the changing of Albumin, Protein and weight on esophageal cancer patients. Method: a prospective study on 30 esophageal cancer patients who underwent esophagectomy at Digestif surgery departerment of Hue central hospital from 1/1/2011 to 1/1/2012. Results: sexual rate: male/female is 9/1, the popular age is 50-70 year old, 53.5% patient have an outdoor work, historical smoke: 77.7%, historical alcohool drinking: 91.4%. All patients come in to the hospital with dysphagia. Preoperative average index: albumin: 31.8; protein: 67.3; weight: 52.6 for male and 41.4 for female. Postoperative average index: albumin: 32.6; protein: 69.3; weight: 54.3 for male and 43.8 for female.

Conclusion: Esophageal cancer is popular in male, the most common clinical sigh is dyphagia so that the perioperation nutrition take care is very important and take and impossible role to make a successful operation. Albumin, protein and the weight are not enough complete to access the nutrition index in esophageal cancer patient but the higher index in postoperative time seem make a good results and this is a small study so we will write a more informative study in future.
