Abstract
Background: Vocal cord tumor diseases affect the voice, therefore they significantly affect life quality of patients. Objective: To comment the status of vocal cord tumor operated at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Hue College of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital Materials and methods: A cross- sectional researchwas conducted in 46 patients diagnosed with vocal cord tumor diseases, received surgical treatment at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Hue College of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital during the study, from 05/2016 to 12/2016. Results: Vocal cord tumor diseases show female preponderance with F:M ratio of 2,8:1, with commonage gmun between 31 to 45 years (50.0%). All patiens hospitalized with hoarseness, moderate hoarseness was 63,0%. In this study, classification of vocal cord tumor: vocal cord cyst (23 cases), vocal cord nodule (19 cases), vocal cord hemangioma (3 cases) and vocal cord papilloma (1cases). There was no vocal cord cancer. Conclusion: Vocal cord tumor diseases affect voice. Most of the patients are female and at working age. The vocal cord cyst was most common, followed by vocal cord nodule, the percentage of vocal cord hemangioma and vocal cord papilloma was low.
