Abstract
A retrospective and prospective intervention study to evaluate the initial results of osimertinib as the first - line treatment of advanced EGFR - mutated non - small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). To clarify this issue, 53 patients were treated with osimertinib at Vietnam Nationcal Cancer Hospital from April 2019 to February 2023. Evaluation of the respone rate and adverse events. Our results showed that the response rate was 84.9% (partial response rate 83%, complete response rate 1.9%). The disease control rate was 98.1%. All reported side effects was grade 1 - 2, including dry skin (28.3%), pruritus (15,1%), rash (5.7%), paronychia (1.9%) và diarrhea (1.9%). In conclusion, osimertinib is initially highly effective and well-tolerated in the subset of EGFR - mutated NSCLC patients.
