Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the results of radical resection and organic reconstruction with fascia - osteomyocutaneous pedicled flaps in head and neck cancer. Patients and method: a case series study of head and neck cancer were treated by radical surgery with reconstruction between March 2016 and June 2017 in Hue Central I lospital; prospective study. Results: Thirty-two patients with head and neck cancer includod: 6 cases of invasive maxillary sinus concor, 3 casco of mandibular involvemont in cancor, 18 cases of enlarged tongue carcinoma and/or floor of the mouth carcinoma; 5 case of multifocal buccal mucosa carcinoma; all cancer cases had stage II to stage IVA arcording 2010 UICC classification. Patients were underwent wide surgical resection and modified radical neck dissection and immediate organic reconsstruction with flaps composed 3 temporoparietal fascia flaps, 6 temporalis muscle flaps, 19 submental istand laps, 2 pectoralis mayor flaps and 2 scapular myo osseous flaps for maxillary defects, oral defects and reconstruction of tongue, floor of the mouth and mandible. Our results with 100% flap survival; there were no severe postoperative complications, better functional recovery, better cosmetic results and lower rate of local recurrence. Conclusions: It is feasible, safe and very effective technique. It was suitable option and reliable choice for moderate to large size defects, combined with the important organic reconstruction to preserve the vital function and form of head and neck region
