Abstract
Objective: Nowadays, endoscopic surgery via transoral vestibular approach is increasingly applied in the treatment of thyroid gland diseases worldwide as well as in Vietnam. We conducted this study to evaluate the initial results of endoscopic thyroid surgery via transoral vestibular approach.
Methods: Prospective study on 22 patients who underwent endoscopic surgery via transoral vestibular approach at Hue Central Hospital, branch II during the period from 1/2022 to 12/2023.
Results: The average age was 29.05, 100% were female. On ultrasound, the average tumor size was 27.82 mm. The average surgery time was 98.86 minutes. There were no cases of conversion to open surgery. All cases had no postoperative complications. The average postoperative swelling time was 2.68 days. There were no cases presented bleeding, infection, or nerve damage. 100% of patients were satisfied with the cosmetic results.
Conclusion: Endoscopic thyroid surgery via transoral vestibular approach is a safe, effective and highly aesthetic treatment method.
