Abstract
Background: Da Nang Hospital has performed laparoscopic surgery to open the common bile duct to remove stones since October 2021 but there is no specific report. This study aims to evaluate the results of laparoscopic common bile duct surgery to remove stones.
Methods: Clinical description, uncontrolled on 30 patients assigned to laparoscopic common bile duct surgery to remove stones at Da Nang Hospital from October 2021 to September 2023.
Results: A total of 30 patients with 16 men (53.3%) and 14 women (46.7%), average age was 57.5 ± 15.6 years. Right upper quadrant pain is the main reason for hospital admission (76.7%), Charcot triad accounts for 10%. The detection rate of extrahepatic main bile duct stones on ultrasound is 73.3%, on computed tomography (CT) is 100%. The success rate of laparoscopic surgery is 93.3%, the stone-free rate is 89.3%. Intraoperative complications were 3.6%, general complications after surgery were 10.3%. Surgery time 123.8 ± 25.0 minutes, postoperative time 8.2 ± 1.9 days.
Conclusion: Laparoscopic surgery to open the common bile duct to remove stones to treat bile duct stones is a safe and effective method.
