Abstract
Introduction: Transoral endoscopic thyroidectomy vestibular approach (TOETVA) is a new technique for thyroidectomy in not only Vietnam but also all over the world. This reseach aims to evaluate initial results of applying TOETVA in thyroid cancer treatment in Hue Central Hospital.
Methods: 35 differentiated thyroid cancer patients were treated with TOETVA in Hue Central Hospital from 5/2023 to 6/2024.
Results: Average age is 38,9 ± 8,9. There were 30 females and 5 males. Tumor located in right lobe, left lobe, ismuth and 2 lobes accounted for 22,9%, 22,9%, 11,4% and 14,3% respectively. 13 patients underwent lobectomy with average surgery time was 84,2 minutes, 12 patients underwent total thyroidectomy by the time of surgery is 97,3 minutes. The complications is rare and almost reversable in 3 months. Almost of patients satisfied with cosmetic results.
Conclusion: TOETVA is a safe, effective method and have an ultimate cosmetic results. It should be apply for suitable patient group.
