Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the clinical and paraclinical characteristics of patients with supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) and the efficacy of radiofrequency (RF) ablation treatment at Hue Central Hospital.
Methods: A retrospective, cross-sectional study was conducted on 55 patients admitted to the Emergency - Interventional Cardiology Department, Hue Central Hospital, diagnosed with SVT, and indicated with electrophysiology study and RF ablation.
Results: The average patient age was 49.7 years, with a majority of female patients. The most common symptom upon admission was palpitations. Electrophysiological findings showed that AVRT was more common than AVNRT, with accessory pathways predominantly located on the mitral annulus. The RF ablation success rate was 96.4%, achieving 100% success in AVNRT cases and 93.3% in AVRT cases. The complication rate was low (7.3%), mostly minor hematomas, and the recurrence rate was 5.5%.
Conclusion: RF ablation is an effective and safe treatment for SVT, with high success rates and low recurrence rates.
