Abstract
Objective: Evaluate the results of treatment of benign lesions of the cervix by with electrocautery and Cryotherapy of the cervix.
Subjects and Methods: The prospective study involving 320 women with cervical ectopic lesions treated with cryotherapy and electrocautery at Hue Central Hospital from January 1-2011 to May 5-2012.
Results: The mean age of of electrocautery patients was 39.8 ± 6.9 years old; Cryotherapy patients was 36.1 ± 6.7 years. The average lesion diameter of cervical electrocautery group was 2.5 ± 0.74 cm; the other group pressure is 2.6 ± 0.6 cm. Healing after 1ˢᵗ electrocauterization was 96.8%, after two treatments was 100%. Cure rate after first Cryotherapy of 97.5%, after two treatments was 100% (with p> 0.05). The average healing time after electrocauterization was 8.3 ± 2.5 weeks; after Cryotherapy was 8.7 ± 2.6 weeks (with p> 0.05). The average discharge time after electrocauterization was 10.3 ± 2.4 days; after Cryotherapy was 12.5 ± 2.9 days.
Conclusion: Lesion diameter is inverse correlation, compared with the Healing rate, Healing time.
