Abstract
Objectives: To describe the visual characteristics of ultrasound and computerized tomography of solid
organs in closed abdominal trauma due to traffic accidents. Investigation of the suitability of ultrasound with
computerized tomography for the diagnosis of solid organ damage in a traumatic abdominal injury due to
a traffic accident.
Research methodology: A cross-sectional study describing 38 patients with solid organ rupture in traumatic abdominal injuries due to traffic accidents admitted at Hue Central Hospital 2 and Hue
Central Hospital.
Results: Ultrasound imaging features: Spleen trauma accounted for 24.2%, liver injury 39.4%, kidney
injury 27.3%, pancreatic injury 9.1%. Computer imaging features: Spleen injury accounts for 25.0%, liver
injury accounts for 37.5%, kidney injury accounts for 30.0%, pancreatic injury accounts for 7.5%.
Conclusions: The compatibility between ultrasound and computerized tomography: There is a match
between ultrasound and computerized tomography of spleen injury (Kappa = 0.652), liver injury (Kappa =
0.685), kidney injury (Kappa = 0.723).
