Abstract

Background: Current knowledge of theory and practice of injection safety of nursing is limited. Leave some bad consequences for patients, the injection and the community. Recognizing this problem, we studied this topict in order to: 1. Assessment of safe injection knowledge, practices of nursing; 2. Assessment risk rate hit by sharp iron objects while performing injections of nursing 3. Surveying a number of factors related to injection safety.
Methods: Using a questionnaire to interview nurses in the clinical department of Ninh Binh Province Hospital. Data were analysed by Epidata 3.1 and SPSS 16.0 statistical software.
Results: Patient safety is 84%, and safety of the injections was 95%, with public safety is 97%. The rate of use of appropriate instruments is 99%. The rate of injection safety knowledge is 72%, the percentage of safe injection practices are 80.5%. The rate of iron sharp objects crashing into the hands of 2.2%. Those who practice safe injection know how to handle sharp iron hand hit 17.11 times higher than people who do not practice.
