Abstract
Background: To study the clinical features of hypertension during dialysis with artificial kidney in patients with end-stage chronic renal failure. Two objectives are:
- Discover clinical features of hypertension and find out the cause of hypertension during dialysis with artificial kidney in the Department of intensive care and antitrust of Kon Tum Hospital.
- Study on the treatment methods of hypertension during dialysis.
Method: The horizontal description. Hypertension is defined according to the standards of Vietnamese Hypertension Association: Analysis hypertension recommended by the Vietnamese Heart Association in 2008. The researcher combined the optimal, normal and high normal blood pressures into normal blood pressure group.
Results: There were 20 patients from March 2011 to November 2011, the majority of whom are male. The number of patients during dialysis with hypertension makes up 23.6%. The most common symptoms of hypertension are tiredness (75.9%), dizziness (46.9%), and headache (46.6%). The causes of hypertension are having inappropriate diet (54.07%) and not losing enough weight (35.5%). The methods commonly used to treat hypertension are using antihypertensive drugs, decreasing blood filtration rate, explaining the psychology and dietary guidelines.
Conclusion: Conclude the common clinical features of hypertension and outline the treatment methods of hypertension during dialysis: decreasing the blood filtration rate, explaining psychology to patients, and informing physicians of using antihypertensive drugs for patients.
