Abstract
Objective: Some initial observations on cases of tongue cancer were reconstructed by pectoralis major myocutaneous pedicle flap at Surgery Departement of Oncology Center of Hue Central Hospital.
Materials and method: Our clinical study was performed on 6 patients of tongue cancer at Surgery Departement of Oncology Center of Hue Central Hospital in 2018.
Result and Discussion: 100% pedicle flap has well transformed, total or partial necrosis did not occur in any case. There were not bleeding or infective complications in all case. One case showed cutaneous fistula in the neck and need to monitor continuosly.
Conclusion: The pectoralis major myocutaneous pedicle flap is a safe one step reconstructive method with low morbidity of the flap. It is an effective flap in reconstruction of tongue cancer.
