Abstract

Background: Treatment Advanced gastric cancer is gastrectomy with D2 lymph node dissection. Evidence of implementation of laparoscopic gastrectomy for locally advanced gastric cancer is currently insufficient, so we offer a study to evaluate this laparoscopic gastrectomy with D2 lymphadenectomy for advanced gastric cancer.

Methods: A descriptive study included 51 patients with advanced gastric cancer, who underwent laparoscopic gastrectomy from February 2022 to December 2023.

Results: According to the TNM of the 8th AJCC, the rates of pIIA, pIIB, pIIIA and pIIIB stages were 41.2%, 33.3%, 19.6% and 5.9%, respectively. The surgical method was 72.5% distal gastrectomy and 27.5% total gastrectomy. The average surgical time was 187.75 ± 46.01 minutes (120 - 330 minutes). Postoperative complications were 13.7%, and there were no deaths. According to the Clavien-Dindo classification, there were 9.8% stage I, 3.9% stage II and 1.9% stage III.

Conclusion: Laparosopic gastrectomy with D2 lymphadenectomy is a safe and feasible procedure for the treatment of advanced gastric cancer in short-term results.
