Abstract

Cancer is the second leading cause of death after cardiovascular disease. The etiology caused not only exogenous environmental factors, but also internal endogenous factors, especially genetic factors. Approximately 5 % of diagnosed cancer patients are involved in the presence of genetic variation. To date, more than 80 genes related to genetic factors have been identified. The family history has been identified as one of the most important factors in identifying cancer-related to genetic factors. In this review, we will retrieve the literature to highlight the role molecular biology in medical oncogenetic counseling, particularly in breast and ovarian cancer syndrome, and Lynch syndrome in colorectal cancer, endometrial cancer.
