Abstract
Background: Diabetes is a prolonged state of high blood sugar, causing many serious complications for patients. Good blood sugar control, through the average blood sugar HbA1c will help control the disease. Therefore, we conducted a study with goal of determing the percentage of patients with type 2 diabetes who reached the target HbA1c < 7% and some related factors at Da Nang hospital.
Methods: Descriptive cross-sectional study on patients with type 2 diabetes inpatient treatment at Department of Endocrinology of Da Nang Hospital from March to May 2022.
Results: The rate of controlling HbA1c < 7% was 20,6%. Patients with less than 5 years of disease with HbA1c control higher than patients with disease for more than 10 years (OR = 3,42; p = 0,014).
Conclusion: Good control of blood glucose plays an important role in preventing and slowing the appearance of complication in diabetic patients. The majority of type 2 diabetes have the disease for more than 10 years
