Abstract
Objectives: Evaluate the outcome of transperitoneal laparoscopic pyeloplasty in the treatment of children with ureteropelvic junction obstruction.
Methods: We studied prospectively pediatric patients (≤16 years old) with ureteropelvic junction obstruction operated by the transperitoneal laparoscopic pyeloplasty method from September 2022 to June 2024.
Results: We performed transperitoneal laparoscopic surgery for 20 pediatric patients. There were 14 (70%) male and 6 (30%) female patients, with a mean age of 27.64 ± 22,56 months, the youngest was 4,5 months, and the oldest was 84 months. Low back pain was the main reason for hospitalization (60%). Grade 3 hydronephrosis accounts for the highest percentage of Ultrasound (60%) and MRI (70%). The average time was 149.38 ± 21.11 minutes, the average amount of blood loss is not significant. The average postoperative hospital stay was 4.86 ± 1.34 days. No complications intraoperative and post-operation.
Conclusion: Transperitoneal laparoscopic pyeloplasty in children is safe and feasible, a good cosmetic.
